CrimeStoppers is a community-based organization of concerned citizens who work with law enforcement to provide information useful in the capture of criminals.
The chamber was a key participant in setting up the CrimeStoppers group.
Union Springs Police Department, the District Attorney and Bullock County Sheriffs Department have come together with the Chamber to embrace this community action program, “Crimestoppers.”
In August 2006, Montgomery Area Crimestoppers sent an officer and their Director to introduce the program to our area . The USBC Chamber of Commerce sponsored the initial program.
We have formed a 501c(3) non-profit organization for the CrimeStoppers program and established a board of directors to administer the program under their chapter guidelines and bylaws.
The Chamber encouages citizen involvement in CrimeStoppers so we can learn to protect one another and build lasting community relationships. We are fortunate to have the support of our local N-focus Cable TV station and the Union Springs Herald.
You may read the latest information on this project in the Crimestoppers section of this web site.
