The Chamber is supporting several efforts aimed at improving the Union Springs downtown area.
We support the efforts by many citizens and the city to plant flowers on the streets. We are looking for ways to assist in the maintenance and regular watering of these beautiful plants.
We supported community efforts to install park benches, make of wood with cast iron backs depicting a bird dog at point (see picture at right).
We continue to support the painting of the mural which will beautify an unsightly wall. While progress is slow, the mural is an effort of community volunteers.
Progress on Mural Entering Union Springs Continues...
Mural by local artist, Dennis Feany, representing "ALL of Alabama's Wonders including Bullock County"
We are proud of our local artist, Dennis Feany. He is an example of how a local artist can make a huge impact on a small community. Dennis and his wife, Shirley, have donated countless hours using their talents to beautify what has been a huge ugly all everyone saw as they entered Union Springs.
Now, thanks to their tireless efforts, the citizens of Union Springs are beginning to enjoys true work of art, a masterpiece.
People from all over the county and all walks of life have stopped by to chat with Dennis and Shirley. They are encouraged to pick up a brush and help to create a truly beautiful work of art.
This is an example of how our community is coming together to build a better future.
