The Union Springs Recreational Facility basketball program is designed for youngsters to have fun while learning sportsmanship, as well as basketball rules and skills.
The basketball league consists of seven teams in six age groups.
- The 5 & 6 year old team is coached by Christy C. Wadsworth.
- The 7 & 8 year old team is coached by Courtney Woodfaulk.
- The 9 & 10 year old team is coached by John Burns.
- The 11 & 12 year old team is coached by Ken Kreis.
- There are two 13 – 15 year old teams coached by Recike Johnson and Andre Miles. The 16 & 17 year old team is coached by Charles Baker.
The Union Springs Recreational Facility play other teams in Notasulga, Russell County, Shorter, and Tuskegee.
All home games are played
in the Bullock County
High School Gymnasium
Basketball is a very popular youth program at the Union Springs Recreational Facility. A mainstay of our offerings for young people, youth sports programs fill kids' discretionary hours with positive activities and caring adult attention.
Coaches -- often volunteers, including many parents -- emphasize teamwork and cooperation over winning at any cost, developing good values over developing the next superstar.
