Bullock County has some of the best hunting in the south. It is known world wide for deer hunting. The county is full of quail, dove, wild turkey, and deer.
Each year during hunting season, hunters from all over the United States and foreign countries come to Bullock County to hunt deer, turkey, wild boar and enjoy the outdoor life.
There are several game preserves including hunting clubs and lodges throughout the county ranging in various sizes.

Bird Dog Field Trial Capital of the World
Known as the Field Trial Capital of the World, bird dog competitions, both professional and amateur, have been held in Bullock County since early 1920s. Sedgefield Plantation, at the time owned by Mr. L. B. Maytag, in 1951 hosted the National Amateur Free-for-All.
